2019 South River Music Spring Trip

As you have probably heard, 2019 is a South River Music Disney year!! Mickey and all of his friends are calling us and we must go!
And – for the first time at South River – we have cancelled the horrible 18 hour bus ride to Orlando! This year, the South River Seahawks will spread our wings and fly to Orlando!

Due to its expense, South River only takes Disney trips once every 4 years.  This gives every class a Disney trip without the extra expense for families too often.  Of course, what this means is that if your child is a current South River student, this will be their only chance to participate in a Disney trip.  Join us!

The trip will be held April 4-6, 2019 with musical performances in a Disney park or Downtown Disney and an on stage workshop with a Disney professional – plus 3 full days in the parks!

Our students and chaperones will depart from BWI airport very early in the morning on Thursday, April 4th to arrive in Orlando in time for a full day of fun in the park. We will return to BWI late Saturday night, April 6th. Exact times will be announced as trip plans are finalized.

Trip Costs, Expenses and Payments

The cost of this exciting trip includes:

  • Music performances in a Disney Park or in Downtown Disney
  • On stage music workshop with a Disney professional musician
  • Two nights stay at an onsite Disney All Star Music Resort hotel
  • 3-Day Park Passes to Magic Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, or Epcot
  • Two full American breakfasts
  • Three Disney Meal Vouchers for dinner in the parks
  • Disney Performing Arts Gift for each performer
  • Disney bus service for the parks
  • Motor coach for local transportation to Disney performance sites
  • Round-trip airfare from Baltimore Washington International airport (BWI) to Orlando International airport (MCO)

The only additional expenses will be lunches in the parks and any snacks desired at the airport and in the parks, as well as any souvenirs or mementos that the student would like to purchase.

The cost of this trip will be $1,025 for students and $1,075 for adult chaperones. These costs can be paid in installments over the next few months as shown below. Exact payment dates may be adjusted slightly when due dates are finalized with our travel company. Note that students must be current with all of their music fees and obligations in order to participate in the Spring trip.

A non-refundable deposit of $150 is due by Dec. 7, 2018 to secure a spot on the trip as this cost.  Deposits received after Dec. 7 may incur a higher cost.

**Important Notes: Because the Music Boosters will be financially obligated on your behalf, the non-refundable deposit will only be returned in the event that the trip is cancelled by the South River Music Boosters. Deposit must be received by 12/7/18 to reserve tickets at this price. Deposits received after 12/7/18 may result in higher cost due to changes in airfare.

Registration for the Spring Trip

To register for the 2019 Disney Spring trip, please complete the registration form and return it to the school with a $150 non-refundable deposit by Dec. 7, 2018. The deposit can only be returned if the trip is cancelled by the South River Music Boosters.

Please make checks payable to “South River Music Boosters” with “Spring Trip” and your student’s FULL name on the memo line. Place checks in an envelope with “Spring Trip” and your student’s name on the outside and deposit the envelope in the locked mailbox outside the Music office.

Per the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Board of Education:

Please be advised that ALL field trips are subject to cancellation AT ANY TIME by the Board of Education, the Superintendent of Schools, or the Superintendent’s designee when, in their sole discretion, cancellation is in the best interests of students and staff. In such cases, parents and students bear the risk of loss for financial or other commitments they have made. The Board of Education, its employees and agents will
not be responsible for any losses arising from cancellations.
