Hello South River Music Department Families!!

It’s Winter Concert Month!

Thursday, December 4, 2025, is a big day for the South River Music Department!  We have two events going on that evening:

The South River High School Jazz Band and Chorus Winter Candlelight Concert starts at 7:00 pm (auditorium lobby doors open at 6:00 pm, the auditorium doors open at 6:50 pm).  There will be a cookie reception to follow, and we are asking that families donate a store bought container of cookies, if possible.  This is also a “Toys 4 Tots” event so if you can, please bring an unopened toy item to support those in need this season.  Cookies should be delivered to the school by 6:30-6:45 pm on Friday as families arrive for the concert. If you want to send them in with your students earlier in the day, and give to Mr. Cavanaugh that is ok too!

The Lights of Kindness Holiday Forest at Homestead Gardens (743 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035) opening reception from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Join us and vote for South River Music’s Christmas tree ($1 per vote) sponsored by Old Stein Inn (www.oldstein-inn.com) along with other nonprofits and businesses as we celebrate working together to make our community better for all. There will be a few guests from area nonprofits, music from students at South River, lots of food, and connecting with one another. The web site www.RotaryLightsofKindness.org will go live for voting with the event.  Online voting continues through December 15, 2025, at 5:00 pm.

 

Followed by Tuesday, December 16, 2025, with the:

South River High School Concert Band and Concert Orchestra Winter Instrumental Concert starting at 7:00 pm (auditorium lobby doors open at 6:00 pm, the auditorium doors open at 6:50 pm).  There will be a cookie reception following, and we are asking that families donate a store-bought container of cookies, if possible.  This is also a “Toys 4 Tots” event so if you are able, please bring an unopened toy item to support those in need this season.  Cookies should be delivered to the school at 5:45 pm at the call time for the students. If you want to send them in with your students earlier in the day, and give to Ms. Koviack that is ok too!
